Safari Stories
Community Work

At Utukufu Travels & Adventures, we believe a journey should be about more than destinations — it should leave something behind. That’s why we’ve committed a share of every safari’s profits to supporting vulnerable youth across Tanzania, particularly young people aging out of orphanages and children’s homes.
Travel With Purpose
Every safari you book with us already includes this impact — no extra cost, no separate donation required.
Why This Matters
Turning 18 is a pivotal, often overwhelming moment for young people raised in institutional care. Government regulations require them to leave orphanages and either return to biological families or build an independent path — frequently from backgrounds of poverty with little support in place. As they pursue higher education, they often lack basic tools like laptops and smartphones that are essential for academic success, while the orphanages that once supported them must redirect limited resources toward younger children entering care.
We pledge 10% of our profits directly toward equipping these students with the tools and resources they need to succeed in their studies.

How We Help
Our support focuses on practical, high-impact resources that remove real barriers to learning:
What Students Receive
- Laptops for assignments, research, and virtual classes
- Smartphones for communication and mobile learning
- Educational essentials, from stationery to study materials

Stories From the Students We Support
We take pride in supporting bright, ambitious university students with the laptops, smartphones, and resources that keep them connected and confident in their studies. In early 2025, we organised a memorable outing in Dar es Salaam for a group of the students we support — a chance to relax, network, and build friendships beyond the classroom.
“Education is not a privilege — it’s a right. Supporting these determined young people helps them unlock new opportunities and, in time, give back to their own communities.”
How Your Safari Contributes
Whether you book a 5-day, 7-day, 10-day, or 11-day safari, a portion of that booking goes directly toward laptops, smartphones, or other critical supplies for young people who have aged out of children’s homes or come from disadvantaged backgrounds — funded entirely from our profits, at no extra cost to you.
