Born and raised in Tanzania, we are a local company fueled by passion and a deep love for our land. Owned and managed by Tanzanians who know these landscapes like the back of their hands, we are committed to sharing authentic journeys that go beyond the ordinary.

Terms & Conditions
Effective for all bookings with Utukufu Travels and Adventures
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Utukufu Travels and Adventures (“the Company”) and you, the traveler (“the Client”). By confirming a booking with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these terms.
2. Booking & Payment Terms
- Bookings must be made in writing through our official channels:
- WhatsApp number listed on our website
- Online Booking Form
- Direct email to our official email address
- A 20% deposit is required to secure your reservation.
- The remaining 80% balance must be paid 15 to 30 days before your scheduled departure date.
- Cash payments must be in USD notes (2009 or newer). Older notes will not be accepted in Tanzania.
- Late bookings (less than 15 days before departure) require 100% full payment upfront.
- Accurate personal information, including passport details, must be provided.
All prices are quoted per person, based on double occupancy unless otherwise specified.
3. Booking Confirmation
- A booking is confirmed once the deposit is received and a confirmation email or invoice is issued.
- Clients must review booking details. Discrepancies should be reported within 7 days.
- Failure to pay within the deadline may lead to cancellation and loss of deposit.
4. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to the following fees:

61 days or more | Loss of deposit |
60–45 days | 25% of total tour cost |
44–29 days | 60% of total tour cost |
28–7 days | 90% of total tour cost |
Less than 7 days | 100% of total tour cost |
Note: Cancellation fees are calculated from the date your written notice is received. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.
5. Changes by the Client
- Change requests must be made in writing.
- We will do our best to accommodate your request.
- Additional charges may apply depending on third-party policies.
6. Changes by Utukufu Travels
We reserve the right to adjust itineraries in the event of:
- Weather conditions
- Government or park regulations
- Safety or security concerns
- Force majeure events
In such cases, we will provide suitable alternatives or refunds where applicable.
7. Travel Insurance
- Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is mandatory.
- Coverage must include trip cancellations, emergency medical, evacuation, baggage loss, and personal liability.
- Proof of insurance may be requested before travel.
8. Health & Medical Requirements
- Clients must be physically and medically fit for all activities.
- Consult your doctor regarding vaccinations and altitude readiness.
- High-altitude treks may require a medical form and signed liability waiver.
9. Refund Policy
- Refunds are processed within 7 business days upon approved cancellations.
- Refunds exclude non-refundable deposits, bank charges, and admin fees.
- No refunds for no-shows, unused services, or late arrivals.
10. Liability & Responsibilities
The Company is not liable for:
- Injury, illness, or death (unless due to proven negligence)
- Loss or damage to belongings
- Delays caused by external events (e.g., weather, politics)
Clients must follow guide instructions, respect local laws, and adhere to park rules.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes will be resolved through amicable negotiation or arbitration within Tanzania.
